2018 Post Flirtation Rosé
85% Zinfandel, 15% Nero d’Avola

Zinfandel: King Vineyard, Suisun Valley; grown sustainably with compost teas and without pesticides and herbicides; dry farmed.
Nero d’Avola: Benson Ranch Vineyard, Ukiah, Mendocino County; 14 year old dry farmed (no irrigation) vines; farmed according to organic principles without the use of pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic fungicides.
The Post Flirtation rosé sits between mid summer and early fall. The nose is full of watermelon rind, quince paste, and apple skin, and the palate brings orange creamsicle, spicy mango and white pepper on the finish. This wine has great balance between body and bright, uplifting acidity.
2018 was a cool vintage, resulting in refreshing and slightly less concentrated rosés compared to the recent warmer vintages we’ve had in California. Combining a barrel-fermented Zinfandel base with a touch of fruity Nero d’Avola resulted in a fresh and distinctly playful rosé, but a wine that still maintains the Stoumen savoriness that comes from great vineyards. We opted to filter this Post Flirtation Rosé to remove sediment and accent the fruit-forward qualities.
13% alcohol. At bottling (May 2019): free SO2 19 mg/L, total SO2 was 30 mg/L.
