Join us in the Lovers Corner with couples we admire this Valentine's season. Meet Nick and Spencer, two climate activists, consultants, educators, and stewards of the land at Solar Punk Farms. Solar Punk is a queer-run regenerative hub in Guerneville that hosts the annual Big West Wine Fest, which is where we were lucky enough to meet these two! Get to know them below.
Firstly, can you introduce yourselves and tell us how long you’ve been together.
Holy smokes 8 years.
Can you tell us a sweet memory from your first date?
We danced at a jazz club and were the tallest ones at the bar; it felt like dancing in Lilliput.
What’s a favorite moment you’ve shared over a bottle of wine (and what the wine was, if you remember!)
Watching sunset with a cheap bottle of Argentinian wine in a hammock in Columbia! Our first big trip together.
Are there any meals (at home or out at a restaurant) you particularly enjoy sharing?
We share everything like that scene in “Two Weeks Notice” but our fav thing to do is make a gigantic Caesar salad at home and eat it out of the same salad bowl.
What ways do you integrate play in your everyday life?
Lol - we are very unserious people. Everything is play. But mostly we have a very specific voice we use when we are playing with each other and it’s very embarrassing and we would never let people hear us talk like that!
FILL IN THE BLANK
Finishing a garden day is the perfect occasion for a glass of wine.
We feel most playful when we’re: hiking in the woods.
Our favorite thing to do together is: make goofs.
